Friends.
Today I'm in the taxonomy :-) Very incompetent :-(
So I ask for advice...
1. How to name the relationship between the taxonomic ranks ?
<class> <has_superior_rank> <phylum> ?
or <has_upper_rank> or <has_immediately_upper_rank> or something without "rank" ?
2. How to name the relationship between particular taxons ?
The definition of "phylum" in Wordnet uses the word "contains". http://wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=phylum
"S: (n) phylum ((biology) the major taxonomic group of animals and plants; contains classes)"
So:
<Mammalia> <is_contained_in> <Chordata>
is acceptable ? There is a practice already ?
Or should I be bold and use crm:P150_defines_typical_parts_of ?
Thanks,
Dan
